Do Your Clients Need a "Breakfast Skippervention?"

You already know that people who skip breakfast tend to fall short on key nutrients such as fiber, protein, calcium, potassium and vitamin D1 and may weigh more than those who eat breakfast.2 But did you know that a whopping 31 million Americans skip breakfast each morning?3

If your clients are among them, it’s time for a New Year’s "breakfast skippervention." Use these teaching tools to help clients get on the breakfast bandwagon:

  • Your clients will love building their favorite, nutritious bowl-based breakfast with our new Build a Kellogg’s MyBowl™ Breakfast interactive tool.
  • Our Know Breakfast presentation uses an interactive quiz format to bust common breakfast myths, outlines the benefits of eating breakfast, gives tips to overcome common breakfast-eating obstacles ("not hungry," "no time," "I’d rather sleep"), and lists 10 fast, nutritious and delicious breakfast ideas.
  • The companion Know Breakfast handout features an engaging true/false breakfast quiz, tips to break the breakfast time barrier and seven “triple crown” breakfast ideas that include at least three MyPlate food groups.

Don’t forget recipes! These six will have your breakfast-skipping clients looking forward to the morning meal. Suggest simple accompaniments such as fruit and low-fat yogurt or milk.
