Courtney Placinta, MPH, RD
Nutrition Business Partner
"Good nutrition doesn’t have to be bland, boring, or hard. I focus on incorporating lots of fiber, fruits, and vegetables, and all other things in moderation!"
What is your educational background? I have a BA in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University and an MPH in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan. I completed my dietetic internship through the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
What is your favorite part of your job? I love that every day is different, and working with such a diverse, and dedicated team who are focused on helping our foods have those ingredients and nutrients that consumers are looking for.
What other nutrition-related jobs have you held? For a short time I covered a maternity leave doing in-patient clinical dietetics. I also spent 4 years in Kellogg’s Consumer Affairs.
What do you consider an ideal breakfast? Any food that is eaten in the morning! For my family, every day is different. We tend to eat a lot of fiber-ful cereal with dairy and fruit, but will also have non-traditional breakfast foods for something different. As long as it has fiber, dairy, and fruit, and my family will eat it, I’m all for it!
What is your favorite Kellogg recipe? Vegetarian Chili, using Kellogg’s® All-Bran® Complete® Wheat Flakes. It uses ingredients you keep on hand in the pantry, so it’s a great last minute meal to throw in the slow cooker before leaving for work.
What do you like to do when you are not at work? My husband and I love to travel and try out new local restaurants and breweries, but most of the time we find ourselves hanging out with our two young kids.
